Cal. 12 Ga. S# 1279. Bbls. 30" of fine Damascus steel. Damascus bbls. are a seldom encountered special feature. Blue finished action & mag. tube w/ case colored breech lock & lever. 2 panel walnut forearm & round knob pistol grip stock w/ an unusual studded steel shotgun buttplate. WEIGHT: 7 lbs, 8.8 ozs. Approx. 64,855 model 1887s were mfg. from 1887-1898. Serial number of this gun indicates 1887, first year of production. CONDITION: action & receiver retain over 80% lightly faded professionally restored blue showing small dark spots. Bbl. retains 70% brown finish showing clear Damascus pattern. Breech block & lever show 40% lightly visible fading case colors. Original wood finish shows wear & darkening w/ scattered scratches & marks. Bore is generally bright showing some very light dark spots. (01-22331/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
